I am the founding pastor of Grace Community Church in Plano, Texas.
People need the Lord, and I’ll do whatever it takes to bring Jesus Christ’s message of salvation, hope, and help to the people of Collin County. That’s what my life is all about.
Growing Up
I was born in Argentia, Newfoundland, and spent the first eight years of my life traveling the world as a “Navy brat.” My family then returned to the States to resume civilian life in Independence, Missouri, where I grew up and met my wife, Sheryl.
Education
I received a B.A. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1977, and a master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1986. Having received my pastoral training through Great Commission Ministries, I served as co-pastor of Doulos Fellowship in Columbia, Missouri from 1980-1987, and was an assistant pastor of Grace Community Church in Dallas from 1987-1989. In March of 1989 with just twelve people, we started Grace Community Church in Plano.
Life Now
My wife, Sheryl and I have three grown sons and two daughters-in-law, and live in Plano, Texas.

Hi George,
I was just reading through your blog trying to remember what year I met you. It was either ‘90 or ‘91. Anyway, the years have been kind to both of us, and God has been good.
I’m writing to let you know how much Grace Community Church means to my family and I – it is woven so intricately in to the fabric of our lives. Since the PEACE plan, I have enjoyed, and have been challenged by, your focus, energy, drive, and determination. It is an exciting time for Grace. It reminds me of the early days when discussions of buying land amazed us all. A long way i tell you…
Anyway, I love the energy and direction. I love the fack that you’re focusing more on maturity. I also love the fact that you are focusing on men’s ministry. I firmly believe that if we can get the men of our communities plugged into Christ, plugged into leadership in the home, at work, in the community, then the change that would come as a result would be mind boggling, transformational.
You are a terrific leader and a dear friend.

Hello Pastor George,
I work at TWU part time, and this weekend was privy to a wedding you performed at the Little Chapel. My husband and I do premarital counseling through a ministry at Denton Bible Church. I very much enjoyed your ceremony and was wondering if you could send me something. You gave a spiel about marriage being covenant rather than a contract. The way you worded it was fantastic and I was wondering if you could send me that text. During our first meeting with any couple we actually have a discussion about that, and I just thought your wording was right on.
Thanks, and bless you for your service.
